Best Games Like Clash of Clans (to Play in 2020)

Even though Supercell’s Clash of Clans is seven years old, it’s still running strong and there are no signs of its popularity to diminish anytime soon. But if you’re looking for some variety and want some extra options, these great games like Clash of Clans that we’re sharing below will certainly fit the bill.

Even though CoC has evolved, has been patched and constantly upgraded over the years, some of the newer games similar to it brought in some interesting new mechanics, up to date graphics and more depth and strategic options.

I am not saying that you should ditch Clash of Clans completely, I’m just planning to share with you some similar games that I am sure you will love: I did spend some time finding them and since I am not a person to keep these games for himself, I decided to share with you my list of the best games like Clash of Clans.

Jungle Heat

01 jungle heat

This game is one of my all time favorite mobile games and even though it’s almost just as old as CoC, it has some amazing graphics and mechanics, including a pretty diehard fan base.

In my opinion, Jungle Heat looks a lot better than Clash of Clans and offers a real challenge: there are tons of players in the game, so a lot to choose from when deciding who to attack, and they have options like creating alliances where people and help each other out with troops – and much, much more, of course.

A really good game that I strongly recommend if you are a fan of Clash of Clans. You can find Jungle Heat on the App Store available for free or on Google Play. And if you have trouble getting better at the game, check out our Jungle Heat cheats.

Samurai Siege

Another “oldie but goldie,” this CoC alternative is set in an Asian backdrop, featuring eye catching Asian themed troops, decorations and buildings.

The game plays just like Clash of Clans, though, so if you love the original, you will feel at home with Samurai Siege. There is also a decent base of fans playing the game, so you will once again have options when it comes to attacking, forming alliances and generally enjoying your experience.

Check it out over at the App Store or on Google Play.

Boom Beach

Created by the same company that’s behind the game in this article’s title, Boom Beach is both similar and completely different. This this a great thing and Supercell proved that they can reinvent themselves, and do so successfully.

In this game, you fight against the evil Blackguard to liberate islands in a tropical paradise. Of course, you can attack other islands and build your own, with solid base building elements and multiple options when it comes to playing the game.

This is also a game that has been around for a while now, but still have both a solid core player base, as well as a fresh influx of players, so if you start now you won’t be instantly overpowered.

You can check out our strategy guide for the game to get a head start and then download it from the App Store or Google Play.

Star Wars Commander

A strategy game like Clash of Clans, but set in the Star Wars universe? It’s surely just as fun as it sounds and fortunately, you don’t have to be a Star Wars fan in order to truly appreciate this one (although being a fan makes it even better!)

Even though this one has been around for a while, it was probably the first (or at least among the first) games of this type that actually allows you to choose one of two sides – and each has its own set of troops, buildings and heroes.

So you will either join the Rebels or the Empire, playing as the good guys or the bad ones, forming alliances with other players and pitting your troops against the enemy. Really fun and really well done and even though it’s old, it is still being constantly updated and fun to play.

We have our guide for SWC ready to be read, so download the game for free from the App Store or Google Play.

Dominations

This is a game that completely changed the approach to strategy games, and the one that was brave enough to go with a completely different approach. And everything about Dominations is absolutely amazing.

In a similar fashion to Star Wars Commander, Dominations allows you to choose one of multiple nations available in the game and lead them to victory by evolving them through time, starting from the dawn of history and going to the modern era.

Each new era upgrade (achieved though upgrading your Headquarters) comes with a new look for buildings, new units and world wonders. Really a complex and absolutely beautiful game that you have to play!

Check out our guide here, and make sure to look at what nation to choose for the best start, and then download the game for free from the App Store or Google Play.

Army Men Strike

This is one of the more recent games on our list – it seems that eventually games like CoC stopped being released as the competition was already pretty high and there weren’t many new things to do to change the mechanics and draw in new players.

But Army Men Strike came with a pretty casual approach and its toy soldiers are charming and interesting to control. There isn’t anything completely new in terms of gameplay, but if you’re looking for an alternative, this is a good one!

Download it now from the App Store or Google Play.

X-War: Clash of Zombies

Last but not least, we have a zombie-themed strategy game to add to our list. It has been constantly updated and made much better compared to its somewhat humble beginnings and even though it moved in some strange directions with its own set of “Avengers” it’s definitely fun to play.

Nothing really new here in terms of gameplay, but a good game overall that can get you hooked instantly – so it’s worth trying it out.

Download it from the App Store or Google Play.

Rise of Kingdoms

This one can be considered a sort of a bonus entry, because it is a strategy game, it does have heroes and base building and it’s extremely addictive, but it doesn’t quite follow the same mechanics as Supercell’s game.

Still, I do believe that you would absolutely love it if you tried, as it is a very complex and deep game, with many civilizations to choose from and build up through the ages (somewhat similar to Dominations, but not as in-depth), with many unique units and heroes and whatnot.

A great game overall which, as I said, even though not identical in terms of gamplay mechanics, is still extremely enjoyable and I have a personal feeling that you’d really love it.

Download it for free from the App Store or Google Play, then make sure to come back and check our beginner’s guide.

These are the best games like Clash of Clans that I want to recommend to you today. I am sure that there are more out there, so if you know of any which is not listed above – and one that’s worth playing, don’t hesitate to let us all know about it!

  1. I have played clash of clans it was a very addicting game, when the new update came my phone would not allow me to get it. I then was on the search for games like it, that is when I found Kingdom Clash. It is very much alike to Clash of Clans, I recommend getting it if you are looking for new game just like COC. 
